Breno, William Edward, 79, of Palm Bay, FL passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bill was born in Dayton, OH March 23, 1932 to Fred & Helena (Kettler) Breno. He grew up in North Dayton where he began delivering newspapers for the Dayton Daily News when he was only 8 yrs old. He continued to deliver papers for the next eight years. While in high school, Bill worked at Bluebird Baking Co, and following graduation from Kiser High he enlisted in the USAFwhere he served for 4 yrs. In 1955 he was hired by Ohio Bell Telephone and worked in various capacities until retiring in 1985. In 1956 he married Ruby Burgess, and together they raised six children. During his life, Bill had a passion for traveling and exploring the scenic highways of America. He took his family on several trips throughout the U.S.A. and Canada. His favorite trips were to the western states of the country and especially to the Grand Tetons. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Florida where he enjoyed golfing, fishing and more traveling. Although a Floridian for most of the year, Bill would never give up his Ohio citizenry and remained a loyal Buckeye to the very end. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Breno. Besides his wife, he leaves behind one daughter, Theresa (John) Grimes of Palm Bay, FL; sons, Matthew (Teri) Breno of Mims, FL,John Breno of Dayton, Jerome (Kim) Breno of Dayton and William "Butch" (Shelly) Breno Jr. of Greenville, TN, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Marilyn Drake of Sandusky, Valerie Brady of Vandalia, and Elaine Hoffman of Lewisburg. Visitation will be at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia on August 5, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a special tribute service for Bill starting at 7:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:00 am at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
