William D. Case
Age 94, of Butler Twp., passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at The Hospice of Dayton. Bill was born September 21, 1922 in New Carlisle, Ohio to the late Charles & Orah (Dwyer) Case. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen (Cassel) Case, in 2012.
Bill was a long-time member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church; a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran; and Past President of Case & Wallace Company (a company that specialized in farm management and rural appraisal). Some of his other memberships and activities include: a 30-plus year member of the Vandalia-Butler School Board; Past President of the Ohio School Boards Association; Past President of the Ohio and American Associations of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers; and he was a past board member of the Miami Valley Career Technology Center Board.
Bill is survived by three children, James G. Case (Cheryl), Charles E. Case (Janice) & Nancy Struble (Dale); six grandchildren, Lisa, Jessica, David, Natalie, Celia & Julianna; four great grandchildren; and by his extended family & many good friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday (10/18) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made in memory of Bill to either The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 or to the Miami Valley CTC Foundation, 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, OH 45315.
