William E. "Bill" Eick

EICK, William E. Bill , age 67, of Butler Twp., passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Spring Creek Nursing Center in Huber Heights. He was born February 4, 1944 in Flora, IL, son of the late Elwin & Pauline (Higgason) Eick. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran, was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends at the AmVets Post #99. Preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Marie and his in-laws, Ed & Jeanne Kleismit, Bill is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Sandra; 2 sons, Steve Eick (Debbie) & Eddie Eick; 4 brothers, Ernest, Henry (Joyce), Ron (Patty) & Don; 3 sisters, Shirley Neff, Ruth McHenry, & Gail Hamilton (Ed); 4 grandchildren, Shaun, Leah, Gage, & Steffen; 1 great-granddaughter, Adison; brother-in-law, Dennis R. Brown Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bills family would like to thank the staff at Spring Creek, especially Kathy, Sandy, Jeannie, Amanda & Amy, as well as Evercare Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Bill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service.
