William Wade Johnson

JOHNSON, William Wade Sr., of Huber Heights, Age 92, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014. He was born June 4, 1921 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Charles and Dorothy (Ryan) Johnson. Preceded in death by his brother, Charles Johnson and sisters, Elizabeth Fisher and Mary Johnson. William is survived by his wife, Dorothy Johnson of Huber Heights, sons, William (Carolyn) Johnson of Huber Heights and Chris (Barbara) Johnson of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren, Mark Duffy, Kevin (Amy) Duffy, Summer (Chad) Lindsey great- grandchildren, Finnegan Duffy, River Rain Duffy, Emerson Lindsey and Elliot Lindsey, along with a host of other relatives and friends. William was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was a Master Mason with 70 years of service. He retired as a Die Maker from the Ohio Rubber Company after 33 years of service. William was a founding member of the Huber Heights Senior Center, loved his fishing trips to Canada and enjoyed traveling world-wide with his wife. William was also a proud Honor Flight Attendee. The family wishes to thank those who cared for William at the Wright Nursing and Rehab Center and Crossroads Hospice. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 14 at Sulphur Grove Church, 7505 Taylorsville Rd., Huber Heights, OH 45424. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sulphur Grove Church or to the Honor Flight, Inc., Attn: Diane Gresse, 300 E. Auburn Ave., Springfield, OH 45505. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
