LOCKER, William Albert Jr., of Vandalia, died peacefully at home with his family at his side on Sunday evening, September 19, 2010 after a long illness. Bill was born May 12, 1929 in North Dayton. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, retired from Delco Moraine with 43 years seniority, was a Charter member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion Post #668 and VFW Post #9582. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Locker & Helen Hoffman, as well as his sister, Norma Coehick. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margie (Callahan); 5 children, Tom Locker & wife, Nina of Davis, CA, Helen Maxwell of Arlington, MA, Christine Locker of Union, OH, Kym Broadstock of Riverside, OH and Bill Locker & wife, Correne of Camarillo, CA; 9 grandchildren, Anna Fisher, Mason Maxwell, Justin Maxwell, Megan Broadstock (Aaron Anthony), Nicole Broadstock, James Locker, John Locker, Jacob Locker and Lukas Locker and 3 great-granddaughters, Elaina Maxwell, Catherine Maxwell & Lea Anthony; 1 sister, Shirley Cox and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 23, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Burial to follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Christopher Catholic Church of Vandalia in Bills memory.
