Willie B. Saylor

Age 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at HCA Florida Hospital, West Palm Beach, Florida. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He was born on July 7, 1928 in Pigeon Roost, Kentucky to Carr Saylor and Vina Catherine Saylor.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Lydia. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, son-in-law, Ernie Dinet and granddaughter, Sarah Medley.

He is survived by three daughters, Rita Dinet of Port Charlotte, Florida, Jeanine (Jim) Cumby of Englewood, Florida, Jeanette (Gary) Lester of Dayton, Ohio; one son, David (Judy) Saylor of New Carlisle, Ohio; grandchildren, Adam Medley, Lucas (Matt) Smith-Marin, Traci (Travis) Groeff, Kristen (Jeff Dawes) Taylor, Ashton (Rhyan) Rice, Jacob Ford, Jimmy Cumby, Katie (Kellen) Karger, Erin Saylor, Caleb (Michelle) Saylor, Josh Dinet, Jermiah Dinet, Callye Windsor, Michelle Dinet, Celina (Ben) Dellaposta & Patrick Dinet; great grandchildren, Rylie, Autumn, Colton, Remington, Baby Girl Dawes, Kea, Korbin, Kenzley, Kyran, Leo David, Elijah, Bailey, Riley & Skyler.

Willie was a member of the Miami Primitive Baptist Church for over fifty years where he served as a deacon. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and worked as a coal miner while living in Kentucky.

Willie loved his family and enjoyed Sweet Pea, his dog and Ginger. He loved walking, sitting outside, scootering and going to church. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday, October 17, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive. Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am with Pastor Dan Kincer officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City.
