WAHL, WILLIS HAROLD, age 93 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Springhills Singing Woods after a lengthy illness. He was born October 1, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, OH, son of the late Lewis H. & Lucy M. Wahl. Willis retired in 1971 as a Supervisory Management Analyst from WPAFB. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving with the 100th Infantry Division, Company C 397, and recipient of Bronze Star. He was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Newton High School and a member of the 100th Infantry Division Association. Willis was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Wahl; 1 brother Richard L. Wahl; 1 sister Ruby Slonaker, 1 grandson Gary Lee Schmidt. Willis is survived by four children, Jerry L. & wife Nancy Wahl of Englewood, Sue Anne & husband Russ Schmidt-Williams of Union, KY, Frank H. & wife Wanda Wahl of Troy, Joy J. Wahl of Vandalia; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 17 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 " 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Willis memory
