Wilmer Lee “Butch” Wead

Age 82, of Tipp City (Monroe Twp.), passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born May 18, 1935 in Vandalia to the late Arthur & Martha (Bigler) Wead. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five siblings, Frank, Carl, Ralph, Emma & Mable.

Butch was a 1953 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and retired from Delco-Moraine in 1994 with 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing, golf and softball.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of the past 62 years, his high school sweetheart, Barbara D. (Gorman) Wead; son, Steve Wead (Robin); sister, Arthella Eyler; three grandchildren, Ben (Heather), Casey (Stephanie) & Thomas; and by four great grandchildren, Savannah, Gracie, Sophie & Elsie.

Following Butch’s request, there will be no formal services. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia, is in charge of arrangements.
