WILCHER, Mildred P. “Millie,” 94, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Hospice of Miami County surrounded by her family. She was born to Simeon & Ida Pittman on January 17, 1928 in Charleston, West Virginia. Millie loved playing cards and golf. She never met a stranger and her door was always open. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles F. Wilcher, Jr., in 2017, and three brothers, Joseph, James & Charles Pittman.
Survived by her children, Elizabeth “Beth” Pulley, Charles F. Wilcher, III, James Wilcher (Lora) and J. Scott Wilcher (Paula); grandchildren, Matt Pulley, Emahlea, Thomas, Daniel & Katherine Wilcher; great granddaughter, Faith Pulley; many other relatives & friends.
A gathering of family & friends will take place at 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia, with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Malcosky, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Miami County or the charity of your choice in Millie’s memory.
