Richard "Rick" Kramer

KRAMER, Richard A. “Rick”, age 70, of Butler Township, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022.  Rick was born January 11, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late William J. & Doris Kramer.  He served proudly in the Army National Guard from 1972-1988 and was a retired mechanic with Fed Ex with 40 years of service.   Rick was the honorable owner and operator of South 40 Auto Shop in Vandalia, and was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1990.

Preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Corrine “Joy” and Charles Charles; sister-in-law, Karen Kramer; brother-in-law, Jerry Charles, Rick is survived by his loving wife of 39 years,  Suzanne; 7 children, Gretchen Tamplin (Andrew), Matthew Knaup (Christina), Jason Kramer, Jessica Schober (Aaron), Jennifer Strader (Joe), Claire Bettker and Sean Sanders (Keasha); grandchildren, Caitlin (Alex), Ashley (Damian), Quinlan, Nathaniel, Athena, Paul, Max, Lilliana, Henry, Hannah and Joey; great-grandchildren, Caidence, Jacqueline, Delila, Hayden, Damian Jr. and Eleanor; siblings, Steve Kramer (Joyce), Mary Tittle (Larry), Bill Kramer, Ruth Kramer, Kathy Wright (in-law), James “Jim” Charles (in-law); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7700 Dog Leg Road, Dayton with Pastor Bob Akins officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until time of service.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami Valley – Dayton Area Alzheimer’s Association, 6077 Far Hills Ave., Ste. 117, Dayton, OH 45459 or the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association, 8449 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH 45414 in Rick’s memory.
